This is nerdy.
This is mostly for me I suppose. The area around my house is expanding incredibly rapidly. I learned this weekend that A) they are putting a new interstate exit on my street (1 mile north of the closest one) B) They are redoing said closest interstate exit and C) Apparently some very upscale apartment complexes are going in just down the street.
I took these screenshots so that in 3 (or less) years I can take new ones and compare how much has changed. I expect basically all of the green area on the map to be completely commercialized. The hospital itself will be the entire length of Diebold from Dupont to Union Chapel. Other than that, I’m hoping for a Target.
The photoset feature really sucks though so if you are actually interested, you’ll have to click on the pictures. of course, I don’t exactly expect many of you to honestly care a whole lot. :)
Michigan Basketball recruit recovers from second plane crash. →
This is a very well-written article about an event that hits me close to home. Austin Hatch, of Fort Wayne, was involved in a plane crash nearly 8 years ago that took the lives of his mother, sister, and brother. In July, he was involved in a second plane crash, which took his father and his stepmother.
One of my best friends was best friends with the sister who died, and I watched as this event shaped her life throughout middle school, junior high, and high school. This is one of the saddest stories that I have heard, all facets considered.
Everyone, keep Austin in your thoughts as he recovers, both physically and emotionally, from this devastating incident.

First, Cheree Calabro wrote about how we could solve the unemployment problem by deporting all of the illegal immigrants. Obviously all 8 million unemployed Americans would love to till farms and clean toilets for minimum wage or less.
Then, Richard Beck wrote about how, surprisingly, only bad people use guns to kill. And so we should only ban guns when the person is a bad person. So. Yeah.

the first thing i heard when i turned it on was this guy going on about how waterboarding is fine and is effective and isn’t torture and how guantanamo is a fantastic place.
then we went into obama is the antichrist style commentary
it was painful and aggravating and i really can’t handle fort wayne. like. i’m FINE with conservatives. i’m not FINE with extremism like this. if this was the only instance of fort wayne having a conservative station i’d be like wtfe. it’s not. every single fucking thing about this town is one sided, extreme, ignorant, self-righteous, and, in my most humble opinion, disgusting. i’m sorry.
i don’t even want to associate myself with this city. it’s bad.
and i’m sorry that this is political and not about harry potter or david fincher. but i had to get this off my chest. and if i sound extreme i apologize. like i said, if fort wayne would just find maybe a mixture of voices, or at least a group of commentators that aren’t so radical and extreme, it’d be fine, it’d be great!
but this is just another thing like our fucking billboard last summer about obama sucking and shit.
